It’s really fun to hate on Adobe and Flash but there’s a point where it’s just no fun when one application decides hating on Flash will be a feature. The newly released Skype 5.0 from Mac prevents Flash from accessing the webcam even when Skype isn’t using the camera; for the end the user that’s really annoying and hard to fix. It’s things like this that makes using a computer too hard.

It’s pretty rude that Skype doesn’t let you use Chatroulette.

Fixes

• Uninstall Skype 5.0 and install the legacy version
• Kill all Skype Processes when you want Flash to use your webcam
• Don’t use Skype
• Don’t use Flash
